Our Repair Mission
We provide a repair service for dolls and toys.
The DollRescue philosophy is one of ‘sensitive restoration’. We make use of traditional craft skills along with a can-do attitude inherited from our forebears. Our family have always been makers and repairers of things. This means we’ve picked up skills to work with fabric, yarn, wood, timber, metal, plastic and many other materials. Each repair project is unique with a different set of challenges.
Our Rescue Mission
When we're not doing that, we rescue dolls and toys and give them another life. We use the same skills to refurbish rescued items. The rescued toys are cleaned, hair de-tangled, spots removed, breaks and holes repaired, and dressed in bespoke hand-made clothes. The process is sometimes a lengthy one, involving specialist techniques and a combination of skills. We rescue most of our dolls, and source our other materials, from charity shops. So as well as saving things from being thrown away, we can keep our prices reasonable. Many of our rescued toys go to charities.
